About Us

Syft is an online platform that connects employers with the best paid, fully vetted and trained workers at a far lower cost than using a traditional flexible staffing agency. We currently provide workers for the hospitality sector in London, Manchester and Leeds.

By removing the middleman, temp agencies, and connecting employers directly to professional workers, Syft charges only a 15% fee on top of worker wages. This also means that workers get paid at a higher rate than the industry standard – a minimum of £8.50 per hour. Higher wages = happy workers!

Syft’s rating system means we can guarantee high-quality, motivated workers, and employers can see how they performed on previous shifts.

Syft offers complete transparency to both employers and job seekers. Syft allows employers to see exactly who they are booking, including skill sets, previous experience and ratings, and job seekers can see exactly who they are working for and what the role involves prior to the shift.

  • Patrick Traynor

    Patrick is the former VP Sales for a disruptive start-up providing freelancer recruitment and management solutions. Previously at LinkedIn for 7 years, he joined as first 1st salesperson in the EMEA region, pioneering the sales team of the LinkedIn’s recruitment platform before managing teams in the UK, Ireland and Germany. Patrick’s team acquired over 1500 Enterprise clients, generating $100M+ in revenue. Earlier in his career, Patrick was the Head of Sales at a £17M VC funded e-learning start-up.

Alex resides in Miami and is currently the Chairman and angel investor in both Synkt Games and enterprise software startup WhoKnows.

    Mike Kershaw is the former Chairman of leading integrated events company The Concerto Group and the former President of the UK Chapter of ISES. A very experienced event professional and venue marketeer, he led Concerto through several acquisitions and the development of numerous venues across London. Having recruited a new CEO in 2013, Mike stepped down in 2015 and has set up Kershaw Partners to bring his extensive experience to bear on emerging event companies and venues.

  • Hon Lord Young of Graffham

    The Rt Hon Lord Young of Graffham CH has had a distinguished career. He set up the first of many successful businesses soon after he graduated from university. In 1979, he sold out his private interests and entered the Department of Industry as Special Advisor to Sir Keith Joseph. He later served in numerous Cabinet positions before retiring from the government in 1989. He then joined the board on Salomon Inc and became the Executive Chairman of Cable and Wireless PLC, before opening Young Associates, an investment firm focusing in technology companies. In 2010, he served as the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Enterprise, overseeing the introduction of StartUp Loans, a programme which has enabled over 36,000 people in the UK to become entreprenuers.
